They just showed a commercial of John and Marlena seeing each other on the Peir many many many years ago. thats all they showed.
That scene and the scene where Hope realizes that Zach has died are the two most powerful scenes EVER that I have seen on days. Such RAW emotions and for two very different reasons!
to do was just stand there and look at each other! ‘Those were the "Days" my friend’…and ‘we thought they’d never end…’

that scene had all the suspense, buildup, atmosphere, romance and big time payoff of any I have to believe on any soap – maybe any tv show. Talk about goosebumps!!

If you watched DAYS OF OUR LIVES yesterday and wondered what John and Marlena were doing on the pier in the middle of the episode, here’s the explanation: "We are incorporating what we’re calling ‘mini-plots,’ and the first one aired August 1," says Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng. "It is a little surprise element, and there is going to be one integrated into each show. There’s more in store: The mini-plots will develop over time. You’ll have to watch us now to see how they — and we — change leading up to September."
So are we supposed to be paying attention to the storyline in these little commercials??
I thought they were just showing fond memories preparing you for John and Marlena’s return. My local station often plays over them a bit or I miss them as they happen in the commercial break…
If they are mini-plot points, I hope they haven’t shown Marlena floating over her bed…
