I noticed on youtube there was an interview with Shelly Henning, I think 1/03/10 with I forget who, I was just clicking around, and she mentioned a change in personality for her character. That she may go with the Steve side, rather then the Kayla side of her personality. That maybe because of the happenings in her life, & the way it’s going, she kind of becomes "unglued" and does things she normally wouldn’t do, but seems to be ok with it anyway….Hummmn, sounds a little kookie to me. But hey, it doesn’t seem to pay to be the good girl.
There is so much more ‘meat’ to play with when you’re a baddie. It seems to be those types of roles that always get the recognition/awards. The only exception I can think of, right now, is Hope’s exceptional scenes after Zack was killed (I don’t watch any other soaps so can’t say what they might have experienced).
I think it’s just because there is so much more to work with than when you’re casted as a goody-two-shoes. Deidre Hall mentioned in an interview once (while she was playing the Salem Slasher) how much she enjoyed using some of her nasty side.
I know that now I’ll get a lot of exceptions to the rules with this post. One beginning with Maggie’s up-coming story. I know she’ll hit that one waaaay over the ballpark.

I too am really looking forward to Maggie’s storyline. She’s going to do a phenominal job, I’m sure. Just the quiet moment at the end of the show was touching and she didn’t even have to say a word.
I like the actress, myself. She is sweet and so pretty. I really liked the chemistry with Phillip, and felt for her when Melanie was being a thorn in her side….and I know others prefered the spunkiness of Melanie ( and she’s fun) but I felt for her. Sooo,this should be interesting to see the change in personality… hopefully they’ll do it gradually, and "show" what’s going on in her head. Otherwise…I’m afraid those that "hate" her, will say, see! I knew she was a spoiled witch.
I feel that Shelly is a very good actor and I really liked Stephanie with Philip. My wish is that they both really love each other and Melanie and Nathan are just some bumps along the highway. The writers have made it abundently clear that Nathan and Mel still are interested in each other so, I hope somewhere down the line, those two will get together and Stephanie and Philip will reconnect. If only…
Steph just cannot make up her mind. She loves Philip but cannot accept his family business. I guess because of her high moral code. Howevver, that same code doesn’t stop her from going after Nathan. melanis always had the hots for Philip, but she seemed ready to be with Nathan until he threw her aside. Since Steph broke up with Phil, he bounced back to Mel. Now Nathan wants Melanie but still flirts with Steph. What a muddle!!!
I think that Melis too young for Philip and Steph is old for Nathan. I just wish this whole SL would change direction cause it is makin me dizzy!
