Shawn Christian was absolutely outstanding today, both talking with Melanie and blasting Carly.
I hope we get the opportunity to see more of SC as a strong, caring doctor and father who is not under the influence of Carly.

Carly took two well deserved hits today; one from Daniel and the other from Maggie. I could feel the angst in Daniel’s voice, feel his pain in realizing what Melanie’s life has been like, and especially when he stood his ground and told Carly that he would not have cared about Lawrence’s threats, but blamed her instead. I happen to think he was right; others may not, but he should at least have been told at some point, especially after Rebecca died. I hope now they can begin to mend fences, but I have my concerns once Victor realizes that Daniel is her father.
and so glad he told Carly the truth about herself. She needs to face facts and leave Salem and never come back. Kudos to Maggie also for setting Carly straight. I was also very proud of Daniel for not telling Melanie until she was stronger. Stupid Carly didn’t have enough sense to handle any of the situation with Melanie in the right way.
Throughout that scene w/Carly I kept egging him on – “Yeah, give it to her!” FINALLY, someone told this woman the truth about herself!
I thought he did an awesome job. He portrayed the protectiveness that a father (a good father) feels for his daughter so well.
At every turn, Carly has made bad choices. Starting way back when she convinced Jenn to pretend to be her. And Carly actually thought Lawerence had changed for the better? Good Grief!
Shawn Christian’s best performance to date! He was so great in those scenes. When he called Melanie his girl, I almost teared up! And dear God, PLEASE let this man smile more… it completely lights up his face and makes him even more attractive when he shows us those pearly whites!!
I agree with everything you said there, Patti. Carly deserved what Daniel dished out to her today. She doesn’t seem to understand why anyone would think she did the wrong thing. Daniel wasn’t even given a chance to decide for himself how to handle Lawrence. She made that decision for him and it was the wrong thing to do. She seems to continue to do the wrong thing, then get defensive when someone calls her on it. I find her to be very selfish and prideful. I loved Daniel giving it to her. She deserved it and Daniel deserved the truth.
will make it all about HER when she finds out. Woa is little ol me, unable to get pregnant and here Danny boy has his child.
and while she is his daughter, it’s not like a situation where she’d have a child of his (not her’s) being shuttled back and forth between mother and father. Chloe may get cranky about him having a child and she can’t but she needs to remember, he didn’t have a real child to raise anymore than she can have one now.
