    that they were brother and sister?  If it turns out that Daniel is her dad then she and Max are really not related at all other than the fact that Max’s dad raised her.  I don’t even know what you would call that kind of relationship!  Max was abandoned by his biological father who then somehow got Melanie and raised her as his adopted daughter…  DUCT TAPE ALERT!!!

    I don’t think it was the intension of the writters to have Carly be her mom…in the beginning. Many speculated it could be Nicole, because she was married to Trent. But after a while GL got cancelled, and Crystal Chappel became available, so with Max leaving and Melanie’s character taking off somewhat I believe they just went in that direction to give her more SL. And take advantage of the the history this actor had with Bo and the show…oh, and bring on Vivian also….

    do any soul searching before they put these messes down on paper.  This whole sl is one screwed up mess, IMHO.

    I think they just assumed they were brother and sister because Trent was both of their fathers.  Why would they do DNA?  Trent didn’t deny it.
