So, if we are to believe that Bernardi was a loving family man who adored his wife and kid, and yet was one of Stefano’s dirty inside cops, then that has to be explained to me. It just makes no sense to portray this woman yesterday telling Sami how wonderful her husband was, how much he loved his son, how the child would wait up every night for his father to come from work so he could “read” to him ….. bah, GMAB …. this has to be explained to me. Is/was he really a good guy at heart and just needed the money? What did Stefano have on this “decorated” police detective that would make him put his family in the position they are now? Unless the writers explain WHY this person was on Stefano’s payroll, I just see the character as another ridiculous plot method to pimp yet another Sami murder mystery s/l that will go on throughout the summer or possibly longer. Some continuity with these writers would be so nice for a change.
Except you explained it much better! I also thought Bernardi looked too old to be this woman’s husband and father to such a young child. I guess we were supposed to think Godfather movie, mafia men, loving fathers.

Maybe this will play in when the investigation/trial progresses? Maybe a case of no the real Bernadi? We all know how Stef likes to pull that off.
Well, I am not sure it is so far fetched. People are often sucked into doing bad things for financial stability. After all, police don’t make tons of money. If he is older and started his family late in life, he might be trying to make sure his family is protected in case something happens to him. Perhaps he worked for Stefano a long time and was in too deep.
If you ever watch investigation, 48 hours, and other such shows, this happens often that a person has a double life that their partner has no idea about.
All they needed was ONE scene of him w/his wife and son in a park or something…. Playing the LOVING husband/father – then he gets a call from Stef and he says he has a job for him.
That ONE scene would’ve allowed us a peek into his life and thus made us feel sorry for the new widow.
And when the hell is Sami or Kate going to mention he was working for Stefano. Obviously if he were, Stefano would be paying him. How hard to check bank accts? And did his wife ever find it odd that her police officer husband was making a lot of money? Why would a cop who has everything going for him, work for Sefano? The whole thing makes no sense.
that she didn’t want the police to make the connection between Bernardi and her because it might lead them to the whole "stealing of the evidence" caper involving Will. I think she was referring to the time when she saw Bernardi and jumped on him for taking the evidence to Stefano. However, Sami could just avoid that part of the story and say that she saw Bernardi at the mansion or something like that.
regarding Sami and how she behaved when Bernardi’s wife asked why was her husband shot and who shot him. Then Sami confronted his wife and stepped almost in her face and said(in a maddening way) "I SHOT HIM". Why wasn’t she taken out of there and shut her mouth.
This is going to be a drawn out sl with everything about Sami(UGH). And I know she loving all the attention.
Logic has gone out the window. If she said shed seen him at the mansion, who’s going to question that? However, Chad did mention having a video the other day, and I bet that is somehow going to come into play and connect Sami and Bernardi and the evidence. Oh what a tangled web we weave!
