With Eli & Lani questioning is it the right move to accept the promotion that Eli had gotten, don’t you think that’s telling?, & with them asking Paulina to talk them out of accepting the promotion, & don’t you think that’s also that’s telling as well, if Eli & Lani had accepted the promotion, they would be risking their children having no memory of Doug, don’t you think? Yes, I know that both characters have no clue of what’s playing up with Doug, but still, yes, all the people in Salem are considered to be family to Julie, i.e. Maggie, given that she married Julie’s Uncle Mickey, but that’s the only blood family that Julie has, right? Why allow Eli & Lani to put his job ahead of their own children, not allowing them to know & hear about the stories of the Horton Family, the Horton Legacy & the stories that Julie has of Doug that she can relay to her great-grandchildren, given that these tots are Alice & Tom’s Great-Great-Great Grandchildren.
Lani’s and Eli’s kids are toddlers. Given that Doug is in his 90’s, even if he weren’t going to die onscreen soon, his character wouldn’t live long enough for toddlers to remember him. I think children need to do what is best for their families and not base decisions on which family members are around to remember.
Someone in the family can record video of Julie and Doug telling the family stories. That way Lani’s children and the entire Horton clan can enjoy the stories well into the future.
But keeping Eli & his wife & children to stay in Salem wouldn’t have Constantine to put it into motion by killing Julie’s grandson & family, now would there, look at how fast Eli & Lani made the decision to leave & then tip off Constantine to put their murders into play by having Constantine to be tipped off of Eli’s promotion, that led to his hasty retreat to put it into motion of the murders of Julie’s family. SideNote: I’m not buying that Victor had John to kill Constantine’s daughter, because then that would vilify Victor to Maggie for one thing & plus it mirrors Orph’s story when he thought that John had killed Orph’s wife & that ended up being Roman that had done that, do we need that story reverberated with Constantine, but instead of his wife, it’s his daughter.
What I’m getting at is that when Eli tipped off Maggie of his promotion, Constantine ran out of the room to make a call when he heard that Eli would be making foreign assignments, that scares Constantine, so he quickly made a call to hire someone to plant a car-bomb to kill Eli & his family on the way to the airport. Remember, that was Eli told his grandmother what happened to his dad when his dad had a motorcycle accident, he told his grandmother of her son’s death that happened off-screen, didn’t he?
Are you speculating about the car bomb or did you read it somewhere as a spoiler?
That is horrific and I hope it doesn’t happen. It’s too violent for Days to kill off such beloved characters that way.It’s just a theory. If it’s off-screen, is it considered to be too violent for Days? then isn’t it telling that once Eli had tipped off Maggie his promotion & what it entails that Const flies out of the room to make a call & also because that Eli & Lani were questioning whether or not that Eli should take the promotion or not & that they were willing to stay if Paulina wanted them to, as well???
Then how come after Constantine heard what Eli needed to do when it came to his promotion, that Const made a bee-line out of there to make a call, if Eli is no threat to Constantine, wouldn’t you think that Consty-boy should have stayed there & not make his call? Especially given that he put on an act of a lifetime to sell it that he adored Eli’s children scampering about when Maggie was looking after them, especially, when him looking at Victor’s portrait, he acts like that he has Eli, Julie, & Maggie wrapped around his little finger & was enjoying it?
Looks like Konstantin met up with John after that scene. Perhaps he called John to meet up with him. Recall, on Friday’s episode, he told John what happened to his daughter.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Eli is going to be involved in Constantine’s downfall. He did make it a point to say that he will be involved in international FBI DOJ business while saying goodbye to Maggie, Julie, and Constantine. Then Constantine ran out to make a phone call.
I think getting Eli involved in saving Maggie from Constantine, even if off screen, would be an interesting storyline.He doesn’t know the sketchy details about Konstantin. He hasn’t seen Steve or John so he isn’t suspicious. Maggie has welcomed him into her home so Eli is just a guest and has no reason, as of yet to be suspicious.
It doesn’t matter that Eli doesn’t know & that he hasn’t seen John or Steve, & that it doesn’t matter that Eli has no reason, as of yet to be suspicious, but isn’t it odd that they were willing to stay if Paulina wanted them to stay & that they were questioning whether not that Eli should accept the promotion or not, & then play up that once Const learning what all comes with the promotion, he makes a fast exit to make a call & you tell me how that isn’t telling?
