soaps on TV now. If Days is so great, why haven’t they been in the competition in the past at this rate? For me, the Emmy Committee missed the boat during the times when there was more competition and Days had some really great writing going on. Now…not so much. JMHO

I really like Peggy McCay, but don’t get how she is nominated as a lead actress. I guess it is because of the alzheimer’s story, but I don’t think of her as a lead. Also to be Ari should be nominated for a lead and Peggy for supporting.

Glad to see Chandler get nominated.

Please!  No competition left.  Sadly this means very little in the grand scheme of things.

with only a few soaps around this is a hollow “victory.” And Caroline’s health story was short-lived for her to be nominated as leading actress while Nicole who is at the forefront far more is suporting. That is ludicous.

Kyle Massey and Ari Zuker win this tear. They are the best actors on Days!

I expect it to be totally unrelated to acting.

I completely agree.  Ari Zucker’s storylines are much more front and center than Peggy’s, and it’s been that way for YEARS.  I know Peggy is a veteran (although one could argue that Ari is too, being on the show for 15 years now) but I don’t see how she can be categorized as a lead actress.  Not anymore.

I’m rooting for Freddie Smith to win… I think he’s one of the best actors on Days!

I can’t recall who he is or do you mean Chandler Massey?
