ParticipantAnyone know if there are plans to bring back the "day ahead" in Canada? We were always a day ahead here but not for a long time now…the Young and the Restless was the same…we got it a day ahead…not its all the same. And there was no show today??? Why not???

Participantit kind of spoils it for us in the USA. I know you guys like to discuss the show but when we haven’t seen it yet, it kind of spoils it for us.
I used to feel the same way when I lived in CA and people on the east coast would see it six hours before me (they saw it at 1:00 EST and I didn’t get it until 3:00 PST) and be discussing it on the newsgroup. Now that I live in the east, I try not to write about the show until everybody else has seen it.
Although that doesn’t happen too much on this group. It is a much nicer group of people here than at my former group…MUCH nicer.

ParticipantFriday’s show was pre-empted because of the Boston Marathon suspect. News coverage was nation wide and Days decided to postpone show. But it was on today, (MONDAY)

ParticipantCanada aired the episode on Friday that wasn’t seen in the USA that day. Since we now air the same episode each day instead of the day ahead, Canada didn’t show the episode again. Tuesday’s episode should be the same one in both countries.

ParticipantIf ashow doesn’t air on theEast coast, it doesn’t air anywhere. The day of the Marathon, the east coast saw the show, but on the west coast we got nothing, understandably. However, they didn’t even show the episode at a later time.

Participantwe get DOOL (I’m in Maryland) at 1:00 p.m., which would be 10:00 a.m. on the west coast. The bombings occurred in Boston at around 1:50 p.m., EST, and DOOL is off the air here around 1:57 p.m. The one other soap, GH, did not air at all, which comes on at 3:00 p.m. EST, so I guess it depends on what time zone you live in. Friday shows were nationally preempted here in the U.S., so I think Canada and the U.S. are now showing the same shows on the same dates, remembering that the show we saw here on Monday was actually the show scheduled for Friday. Now, here in the U.S., everything is a day behind (which, IMHO, makes Monday’s show a really slow, uninteresting day for what was to have been a Friday cliffhanger).
