According tonDays Cafe, he is either leaving or going to look different (new actor) after Halloween. Thought?
that yesterday (Thursday, June 20, 2013) was his “last day” of taping, but that he would be on-air through October (ugh, this means DOOL is now up to 4 1/2 months ahead in taping).
There was a casting call a few months back for a male Caucasian actor, over 6′ tall, early 20’s. I think this was for Chad, so he’s been planning to leave. He’s been showing that he has some other irons in the fire lately, so I’m not surprised. Disappointed, yes; surprised, no.
There is also a rumor that possibly Chandler Massey will be leaving at the end of his contract (December 2013), because he wants to return to school and get his degree in whatever. This would be way more upsetting to me than Casey leaving, but if this turns out to be true, I think they will recast both characters. Too much story involved for them — or at least where Will Horton is concerned.
when Chad is gone. I never liked him, he was so arrogant. The idea of him being a DiMeara was such a farse. He didn’t seem to really fit in.

I will be sad to see Chandler go.
I would absolutely hate for Chandler Massey to leave, but I do admire him for wanting to further his education. As for Casey, yes I’ve seen him in a few other shows lately. Also, not sure if he’s still dating Molly whatshername, but since she left a while ago, he may be wanting to follow along her same path.
Lots of change. I’m very sad to see Chandler and Casey leaving, but glad to know they aren’t getting rid of the characters. So John is GONE! Sefano? Not happy about Brian Datillo going to recurring status, but they haven’t given him much to do.
I’ll be sad to see Casey go. I think his relationship with Abigail has so much potential and I think HE has great chemistry with Kate Mansi. Not sure if a new actor will be able to capture that. Boo.
according to several sites I’ve been reading. I would love, love, love to see them get Nathan Parsons for the role. How much does this guy look like James Smith?
