Okay, what’s up with Caroline lying to Rafe about Will? My mind is off and running in different directions at once with this one. Yesterday, when Rafe was talking to Caroline, did she seem overly nervous? Yeah, I thought she did. First of all, she absolutely hates the DiMeras and with just cause when you think of everything they have done to her family. Secondly, she is extremely protective of her family, including Sami, who I find Caroline to be the typical grandmother …. ‘I can say what I want to about my granddaughter, but nobody else better.’ (I know, I had one of those myself.) And yesterday, when Rafe was questioning her about Will’s whereabouts after he found out about E.J.’s shooting, Caroline out and out told a bold-faced lie. She said Will was there with her and his brothers and sister ‘all night’ when she knew very well that he was not. How could he have been if he was at the mansion and saw Sami leaving with the gun. Does she suspect Will shot E.J. too? Looks like it to me. Is Rafe wondering the same thing, or is he the one who followed Sami when she left their love nest. In any event, will Caroline believe she is protecting Will, or is she covering for herself? I read that Caroline will do something very uncharacteristic. Is this it? Or, perhaps she will overhear Ariana telling someone in the Pub that she knows that Sami shot E.J. and, while on her way to tell E.J., maybe it’s Caroline who runs Ariana down. See, I told you my mind was off to the races with this one.
I will have to catch up on things, but to piggy back, what if Will or Caroline, shot EJ? And then later it is discovered that Lucas never shot EJ the first time around. Maybe Lucas was protecting Will then and maybe Caroline is protecting Will now or herself.
I like the theory that Caroline runs down Ariana, certainly would make a very good story. That would pull other characters into the whodunnit story and just the thought of a sweet old lady being protective of her family would add interest. Otherwise, with Sami being the shooter and the person who runs down Ariana, it’s too easy and once all is discovered, Sami would go to jail.
I remember when EJ was shot the first time it was speculated that Will was the shooter and that’s why Lucas let him to go Switzerland so fast and confessed himself without a trial.
I could see so much potential with Caroline being the shooter or the one to run down Arianna. Victor who still cares for her would be by her side, Roman and Bo would have a hard time doing their jobs and nobody in Salem would actually have to watch their own kids since the babysitter would be in jail.
This sucks!! So far we have Stefano suggesting the shooter might be Will, next Caroline seems to think Will might be guilty. Then Kate acts as if she thinks Will did something wrong, and then Rafe is all eyeballing Will as if he is guilty. Exactly how long will Sami let Will be a major suspect? I hate the idea that Will thinks he should NOT tell what he saw, in the hope of protecting Sami.

which board I was on. Very sorry, but since I let the cat out of the bag, unfortunately (IMO), it’s true. Ariana does get run down when she is on her way to tell E.J. that Sami was the one who shot him. That’s how they’re going to write Lindsay out. Too bad. Another suspect I have as to who ran Ari down is that crazy Meredith, remember, Emily’s sister, who is supposed to be in a mental hospital over her sister’s death? Maybe she got out and is the one who runs Ariana over with her car, her reasoning being an eye for an eye. She believes Rafe killed her sister, Emily, so perhaps she felt since she failed to kill Rafe when she tried to wall him up, she comes back for Ariana, figuring Rafe killed her sister, so she will kill his. Just speculating about Meredity, but Ariana does get run down on her way to E.J., but I’m not sure how she finds out. Maybe she will hear Sami confessing it to Rafe.
I love that they are actually involving the senior members in the thick of the storylines (romance, murder plots, etc.) and not just using them as set decorations (and babysitters!) like they have for so long. They are wonderful actors and characters, and it’s nice to involve more than the usual few players in the main story lines. I’m actually proud of the writers!
