THANK GOD!!! He was NEVER Phillip for me – I accepted a Phil recast when it was Kyle Brandt but for me Philly will always be Jay! Always Always Always!!!
He’s so NOT Philly… I always found his acting to not be in line with the rest of the DOOL cast. This might sound funny but his acting is a little "ABC-ish." I know that they look for different things at GH/OLTL then DOOL does.
Can’t say i feel sad, I never like him as Phil!! Jay is the only Phil for me, I just love that dipple!!
TFlo–Any truth to the rumor that Jay is going to return as Philip? I heard that Jp was really pi**ed cause they fired him with a phone call. Also heard he was annoyed at ‘rumors of Jay returning" and that he really didn’t fit in with the rest of th DDOL cast!!
It’s not just the actor that’s gone it’s the character. Spoilers say Phillip and Chloe will be gone by the end of the year. I’m guessing Nadia’s baby is due soon. However, that means Phillip has to be written out, so there’s no hope of a recast if you ask me.
as how he portrayed Phillip Kiriakis, which was nothing like JKJ did. I must sa, I did like how he didn’t take any guff off of Kate, and actually put her in her place, rather than cowtail to her like Lucas always winds up doing. So yes, again, I guess no one will ever come close to Jay Kennet Johnson. People get so used to a character played by a certain actor, and they simply can’t or won’t accept anyone else. That’s what most did with Philip. I remember having a really hard time accepting anyone who even tried to replace Peter Reckell as Bo Brady, and actually never did. To me there will always and ONLY be one Beauregard!

Yes on Bo, but I will say many did like RKK as him. RKK was not the rough around the edges Bo and more sophisticated but I did not mind him in the role.RKK was an easy pill to swallow as Bo – b/c most of his time was w/o Hope. When she came back RKK simply had to go. Same with Shawn. Jason was Shawn until we lost Kirsten – I was okay with Brandon when he had Martha. Sometimes the partnership changes helps too. Or a character change – like Austin. Patrick was a great Austin when Austin was a street smart boxer. When they made him into Sami’s cat toy then Austin Peck played it better lol
I never ever accepted RKK as Bo…he was an awful replacement and i hated every moment he was on screen. Same with the replacement of Kristen STorms as Belle…this Belle is awful and I will never accept her or the guy that plays Shawn. I don’t care if they get together or not, they are not Shawn and Belle and never will be.
