I know that they have already recast Ben, but I thought he did a fine job today. Problem is that they take so long to develop the SL and gave him nothing to do, that they never gave him a chance!!
I disagree. He is so totally wooden. There were a few moments when he actually allowed himself to SHOW emotion as opposed to just acting it (couple of sly smiles at Abigail), but other than that he is like a talking tree. It is almost like he is trying to hold his face in a neutral position. Nice looking guy and maybe he needs a few acting lessons to help him out.
Perhaps you forgot what Chandler Massey was like when he first came on. Remember all the comments that were made about his smirks and grimaces that many people complained about. Yet as he continued to become a fan favorite and winner of best actor. I truly believe that you need to give new actors a chance. he really hasn’t had a story till now.
But at least if you are overacting it shows you have emotions and maybe you can be taught to reign it in. This guy was completely emotionless, IMO. Now maybe that was his interpretation of how they wanted him to be but it didn’t do anything for me. I never complained about him. I just didn’t feel that there was any feeling in his portrayal even yesterday or Monday with Nick. JMO. Oh and those smirks of Chandler’s, I got used to them but they still always drove me crazy even though I loved him!
Justwondering. They should have given him a chance. I was warming up to the Ben character. He should have been given a chance to grow in the role, I’d bet he would have aced it. Bummer! Also, I think he was kind of cute. They should have let his storyline get going first.
They drag their feet sometimes with new characters and viewers get bored by the time their SL gets going. What’s this big secret with brother and sister? In this era of instant everything you’ve got to be dynamic from the getgo.
And once again, why was John Black brought back? Talk about a nothing, absentee character at present!
