ParticipantWonder what’s ahead forAdrienne getting the cancer genetics test? I like how Days is exploring new SLs across the board. For years there I never thought I’d see the “must tv” DOL again.

Participantthan they did with Kate’s cancer. That whole thing was so absurd and unbelievable. it’s a topic can easily be done well so I hope they will do so.

ParticipantI don’t see the reason for this SL. It has been done before, Kate( lung), Johnny(lost his eye). Perhaps, it a chance for Justin to decide he wants to be with her.

ParticipantWasn’t it Joy Garrett and didn’t she die of breast cancer? She was a wonderful actress and she died too young. Maybe this is Days way of paying tribute during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

ParticipantI looked her up, and she wasn’t quite 48 when she died. Definitely too young! If that is why the show is doing this SL, I think it is a nice tribute to the actress and to Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Participantas a survivor of a double mastectomy and the dreaded chemotherapy myself, 31 years later(!), I sincerely appreciate what they are doing. The statistics are now one in eight women will at some time in their lifetime experience breast cancer, it is certainly a topic that will touch many.
Yes, the genetic testing is expensive but isn’t it worth it to know you have a high probability of contacting the disease. Some people say they wouldn’t want to know but, if nothing else, it would probably make one do their self-examinations and get regular mammograms, to detect it early IF they do get it.

Participantrecently have her breasts removed, not because she had breast cancer, but because she had the gene making her more than a possibility that she would get breast cancer? Was that Angelina Jolie?
September 30, 2015 at 4:52 pm #48704majenco
ParticipantYes it was Angelina Jolie.
