Actually, I’m from Ohio too (southern), and recently buried my grandmother.  She was buried in the morning…and my grandpa and I went back to the cemetery later that evening and her tombstone was engraved.  I think it has more to do with who you know.  My grandpa used to be a trustee at the cemetery, so they bent over backwards to get it engraved immediately.  I’m sure Alice was important enough
