Participantfor material shame on them. No excuses. They rarely seem to venture beyond musical chairs couplings, petty jr high revenge or who’s the daddy. Even the stories that tie in characters ala Nick are hardly compelling. Maybe if we knew Nick was truly dead it would lend some suspense.
And the SLs that involve those I like – Fr Eric for example – lose steam with repetitive dialog and not moving forward at a brisker clip. Plus the fact that the show’s longtime villain – Stef – has only become a paper tiger for years now.

Participantand like the name!

ParticipantBut MK do we know they did it more than once? I didn’t see the entire show so maybe I missed that (thankfully so!)

Participantand wouldn’t miss her a bit.

Participantof kate’s continuing revenge/take out competing women role. This is so small potatoes when Days could really ratch up the drama with this character who could be so much more.

Participantover new actors once they’ve settled into the role so I will give the NuWill awhile. But he’s in a tough spot to take over for such a charismatic likable award-winner. But I agree he has to come over more as the vulnerable character that Will so endearingly was.

Participantis so ridiculously uninteresting!

Participantnon-chalantly that little nugget came out about John. Did I miss something? And if he’s not who we think than what? Is this the start of a new SL?

ParticipantDo writers really have no imagination or just what is the problem with lack of fresh ideas? Anyone could see this EJ/Abby thing coming a mile away and of course once Sami finds out she will believe the worst. Yadayada.
Same thing with the Nick SL. The reason it is blah for me is that unless I get some big surprise does anyone believe Nick is really dead? Plus, with such dumbos as Abs and Gabi in the picture it’s tough to even care. Where is material with grit and passion?

Participantthis week’s weather is brutal – expecting single digits and record breaking wind chills. Not to mention tons of snow. At least it’s not supposed to linger and by the weekend above normal. That’s been the pattern for the past few weeks here.

Participantit’s a balmy one degree with 18 inches of snow. In "ski country" snow is the norm. But these vicious temps grate on you. I have some water pipe freezing as well. A weekend "warmup" coming then back to polar conditions next week.

Participantwhat you bring up really starkly contrasts with how pathetic the current Days SLs have become. The older plots had so much more staying power with more heart and depth and investment. So much is just fluff and dummness and no progression. The only couple I care about succeeding is Sonny and Will. I find the entertainment value on Days severely lacking.

Participantone of the NBC commentators only guessed it might be her. But then I thought Hoda and Roker weren’t the best in this role. Didn’t A.S. look stunning on that horse.

Participantfor all on this board. I enjoy my daily rounds at SP and my "Days" just wouldn’t be the same without you all. I am educated and entertained by the variety of comments and wouldn’t it be a bore if we always agreed.
Farewell to ’13 and may this coming year be one filled with happiness and peace.
