The Howard The Duck story, that jumped the shark for this show, was when they made Andrew Donovan gay, it would constantly have Paul to be a victim & Andrew for that matter, because they went for his jugular, his lover, & with being an ISA Agent, the last thing that he would want is to whoever being in his love life will constantly be in danger, look at the guilt & remorse that Shawn has for what he had done, meaning, as to what he had done to his father, Bo, can you really see Andrew allowing Paul to be constantly being in danger. Look at what happened to Cyrus’ husband in Scandal, his sworn enemy went after his husband, James Novak, played magnificently by Dan Bucatinsky. So you tell me was it a wise move to have Andrew a member of the Fans of Dorothy, if you know what I mean.
The bad guys can go after wives and girlfriends too. Think how many times Marlena has been kidnapped because of John’s ISA affiliation. And when Shane Donovan was on Days, and he was in love with Kimberly, there were times when she was in danger because of his ISA work. There’s no way you can say this is exclusively because Andrew is gay.
I’m not saying that it was exclusively because Andrew is gay, what I’m getting is that John & Marlena are ENDGAME, one of this show’s SUPERCOUPLES, the same with Kimberly & Shane & again with Sonny & Will, they head off to the Land Down Under, New Zealand to be exact, I can’t see that Andrew & Paul are ENDGAME & one of this show’s SUPERCOUPLES, the only reason as to why they brought back Andrew & Paul, was to play up Beyond Salem 2 & to play up of the kidnapping of Andrew. The other reason that making Andrew gay was the worst story ever, is because when it came to Sonny, it was put out there as to when he told his parents, it was put out there magnificently when Will came out & they didn’t even bother to do that with Andrew, now did they? We had to find out all on our own without even seeing him coming out, much less him telling his parents. Remember, they did have Shaughnessy playing effortlessly both roles of Drew & Shane Donovan.
