So Victoria Konefal is not going to be on permanent status because she’s still pursuing other acting venues. The story is going to be she has amnesia and will think it’s 2018, right after she saw Claire and Tripp together. She will think Ben is still the Necktie Killer, not her husband. Then she’ll be written off camera. I have really liked Victoria Konefal as Ciera, but c’mon, we need a new Ciera, so she and Ben can be together. This life in limbo for Ben is not enjoyable. More crappy writing.
I for one am getting tired of the revolving door of people just coming and going without any real rhyme or reason. Either keep people on long term or not.
I adore Victoria Konefal. She has the perfect combination of feistiness, great beauty, great emotional acting and the best chemistry with Robert Scott Wilson of all. But the young actors want to sow their oats so she and her team have decided to allow her to seek out new venues for her talents. She is interested in music, dancing, all kinds of artistic endeavors. I do understand her dreams but this coupling has been a dream come true for us fans of CIN. So I along with many thousands of other fans, wish they would recast the part so we can get some happiness and good events for this duo. She knows she has a good thing with Days and she is reluctant to give it up completely. So we shall see.
That’s the problem. The fans love her and she knows it. She wants to keep Days in her hip pocket. The bad thing is we love Cin, having her off screen and keeping us dangling is not fair to the fans. As much as I love Victoria, I’m ready for Days to say they’ll recast her. I love the story of Cin, and with her off and on and off again, there really is no story.
You are absolutely right–no story. How long are the fans going to be interested in a Cin storyline if we know Victoria’s appearances on the show are only temporary? Poor Ben may someday be interested in another woman only to have those hopes dashed if Victoria is in and out of town all the time.
I agree that Victoria plays the part of Ciara exceptionally well and has chemistry with Robert (Ben). I understand that the actress wants to pursue additional creative opportunities so early in her career.
However, as a fan, I want to see the Ben/Ciara storyline move forward to them being a happily married newlywed couple in the NEAR future. If Ciara needs to be played by another actor, due to schedule conflicts so be it. Though she will be difficult to replace.
In general, I think the story needs to dictate the events and timing, not actor availability. Exceptions would be actors who have played their characters for years and the fans would have a difficult time with a replacement – like Sami, Marlena, John, etc.
So Days let’s get Ciara’s memory back soon and bring Ben and Ciara back together, with or without Victoria (hopefully with).
