ParticipantOkay, what ‘da hell is going on. The Rose Bowl Parade is supposed to be on New Year’s Day. What are they thinking? I was so disappointed to find it wasn’t on.

Participantand they put up the questions why it was held on the 2nd instead of the first and was supposed to answer it after the commercial. I never saw the answer.
BTW, I think the Rose Parade is in too close proximity to Disney. I think it’s become way too "Disneyfied" for me. I wish they’d just forget all the commentary and "color" and just show us the parade. I didn’t see one single horse and I’m sure they didn’t show all the floats. They get so involved in what they’re made of that we don’t get to see the whole thing long enough to appreciated.
But…I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, the surfing dogs. That was amazing. By far my favorite float.

ParticipantDay Parade. They stop for all those performances in front of the Macy’s front door and it just takes away from the parade itself. I don’t even watch it anymore.

Participantdid you watch the parade on? I didn’t see it this year, but in previous years I’ve watched it on Home and Garden, where ads are limited and you get to see a whole lot more. No horses? That would get me to turn off quick!

ParticipantBoth commentators were from ESPN so it was heavily laced with sports. Just a general turn-off for me this year. And I always used to enjoy it so much.

Participanton the main channels you’re missing a lot. H&G is WAY better. Plus they pay more attention to the makeup of the floats – which flowers, seeds, etc, as you would expect from that network.

Participantis the best channel to watch it & there were many horses in the parade. I don’t remember seeing any commercials at all on HGTV which is why I started watching it there several years ago or whenever it started there.
