Since when do relatives of surgeons get to hang out in the operating room with them?
And how did Carly, after years of being controlled by Lawrence overseas, get to waltz back into a hospital
with privileges? How would her license still be valid?

are all excellent points. If Carly was so isolated and controlled by Lawrence, how on earth could she be aware of new, ever changing, medical and surgical techniques?
As to the license, maybe Salem hospital doesn’t bother with a little thing like a license. They just need to have Daniel vouch for her.

I guess Melanie is allowed to observe because she is in the nursing program with that hospital…and she is observing her parents. My concern is Melanie’s ever changing attitude towards Carly, she’s hot & cold. As soon as she hears something "off", she’s all so anti Carly. I’m assumming Carly’s licence is still intact, even if she only was allowed to practice in Alemania…
for the last 20 some years…we are my dears…it’s Salem! You can become a full-fledge nursing student after quitting the program after only going to school for three months and because Daddy is a surgeon (albeit one who cannot practice surgery at this time) and Mummy, who hasn’t practiced medicine in years and years can get you a house seat… I predict that Mel will be a full-fledged doctor with a degree in two years…after all, it’s in her genes…and like I said, it’s Salem!
