    For me the only thing that can save this ridiculous storyline would be to have the unlikely friendship of Kate and Adrianne.  Kate gives her moral support releasing her from the pressure and guilt she feels from everyone else.  I think these two would be a funny pair and if written well it could be a great storyline.  Getting Kate out of man eating, kid interfering mode and making her human.  After they bond it will threaten their friendship when Adrianne ends up ultimately choosing Justin.  I’m sure the writers will screw this up.

     wanted Lucas with Adrianne, as far as I know, or maybe I’m mistaken.

    …she wouldn’t want to see him hurt, so, I see ‘majenco”s point…If Adrienne chooses Justin over Lucas, Kate will get miffed.

     Precisely.  Also in this  scenario Kate and Adrianne would become friends thereby making Kate approve of the relationship.  Again, there is no way the writers will give this story the time and development it would require to seem realistic.
