Participantan entire episode to her passing. At least a memorial service where comments from family and friends are laced with flashbacks. I mean Alice Horton WAS Days!

ParticipantAnyone remember how they treated Mac’s passing? I don’t remember if they had any kind of tribute for him. They just treated it as the character died, IIRC.

ParticipantAlice = Days! Like you all said – they’d better do a great tribute – and so what if they’ve already taped the show two weeks in advance – like we are going to care if the story line drags on an extra day or two in order to have a fine tribute to Ms. Reid. I would like the head man himself to start it out, then have the actors all say a tribute, and then play scenes of Alice Horton from the early years up to her last show; if that takes two days so be it! I wouldn’t even DVR the show, I’d be watching it as it played. I want to see her with her doughnuts, the Christmas tree ornaments, Tom and Alice together, and all the rest! Give us fans a way to say goodbye.

Participantthat they had the character die in his sleep and I believe they showed some of the scenes he was in from the early days up to his passing time. Alice was front and center in it along with the other Hortons. Even the ABC show (George Stephanopolis used to host) this morning had Frances Reid first in their In Memoriam segment.

ParticipantSome of my favorite storylines were with Mrs. H. and Bo working on cases together. They made a great team. I always thought that she was probably the same in real life as she was as Alice. Warm, genuine, loving and gracious with much wisdom and humor. I have been watching Days since the 60’s and always loved Alice. I can’t imagine how her family at Days feels and when was the last time they saw her. She was truly the Grand Dame of daytime tv. God be with you Frances Reid. We will miss you deeply.

ParticipantI saw the announcement Sunday morning in our local paper. So sad, but it was sadder knowing she was in such bad of shape that she could no longer appear on the show. God bless "Mrs. H", we’ll miss you but are glad you are no longer in pain.
