Last week Days was pre-empted because a small plane crashed in The Everglades and they stayed on it until they got the pilot out. Then, a couple of days later, a plane at the Ft. Lauderdale airport caught fire and they stayed on it until it was all over. Now yesterday, some juvenile delinquent steals a car and takes the cops on a merry chase all over the Miami area which lasted an hour. When they finally got him stopped, I counted (as quickly as I could from the helicopter shot) they had 27 cop cars chasing him. And the newsroom even had a back-up in case he was caught before the show was over. A lady was walking across a bridge when they opened it and she fell in, eventually dying. (What possessed her to cross the barrier and cross an opening bridge???) I wonder what will pre-empt it today.
So, anyway, not much in the way of Days lately. Hey, crooks and pilots and bridge-crossers, could you please delay your tragedies until after 2:00?
