With in the flashback, we did see that Sloan couldn’t face having Eric going back to Nicole, so she swabbed herself. Explain as to once it was known that Eric wasn’t a match, having EJ to believe the child is his? Or are they about to show in another flashback as to how Sloan tampered with the results?
I can’t see how Sloan could have tampered with the results, given that she knows very well as to what Eric had told her. He said to her, if she does ANYTHING & I mean ANYTHING behind his back they are done period, why would she risk that, meaning, allowing it come out in the worst scenario that Sloan did just that by going behind his back?
Since Nicole only slept with two people, EJ and Eric, by eliminating Eric as the father that only left EJ. Sloan didn’t tamper with the results, she didn’t have to, instead she submitted her cheek swab instead of Eric’s. She knew the results would not show a match for Eric.
Sloan did take a risk here and went behind Eric’s back. This is Salem, so at some point the truth will come out. Sloan is living on borrowed time with Eric.
The question is why Sloan took that risk & went behind Eric’s back, when she knew that he would be done with her in a heartbeat once he learns that she had done this?
I have not scene yesterday’s show because we were without cell, internet, and cable all day. However to answer your question. They only needed the DNA of one of the potential fathers, in this case it was going to be Eric. Since we now know that Sloan swabbed her own cheek, that DNA wouldn’t match no matter what. With everyone believing it was Eric’s DNA, it didn’t match so everyone assumes the baby is EJs.
Sloan was willing to take this risk because she’s hoping Eric never finds out. But as doolfan pointed out, this is Salem, he’ll find out somehow in the end. I’m also guessing since this is how the story is playing out now, Nicole will carry this baby to term. There will be something that happens after the baby is born that will necessitate some sort of blood or organ donation and Nicole and EJ won’t be a match. So Eric will find out the baby is his.
If this child is his, remember Colin. He believes that his sister turned her back on him. You wanna bet that he would go after this child, & kill it, all because he believes that his sister turned her back on him, & look where Sloan is with this baby daddy story, it wouldn’t be the first time this happened, Sloan was the one who pointed it out there that Colin is no monster, yeah, right, if he’s no monster then why did he have mother & daughter Price to meet their death on the roof. What’s wrong with Sloan, her brother nearly clobbered Abe to death, about to throw mother & daughter off the roof & Sloan’s pontificating her brother. So what I’m getting at is that EJ has to stay the baby’s father, it’s the only way to prevent Colin from going after the baby because his sister is in this story.
