I realize Days had to find a way to buy time for a new actress (hey, remember when soaps just tossed in replacement actors in midstream saying “so and so is now playing the part of…”) but couldn’t they have just implied the action off camera instead of having Abby reject her family? And to set up the obvious upcoming Chad/Ciara isn’t the way I’d like to see this go. I’d rather put this on the back burner and focus on some other SL like exploring Jenn’s descent into addiction.
I hope once the new Abs comes in this will be resolved sooner rather than later.They’ve known that Kate Mansi was leaving for quite a while and they dragged their feet. Without a new actress, they had to come up with this crap.
It should have just been a mid-stream replacement. I’d accept a new face over this ludacris plot driven SL. Plus taking the camera OFF screen for a replacement isn’t a guaranteed solution either (hello Nu Will LOL.)
They could have just had her go away and have her family refer to her treatment and visits without showing them. Then after some time you bring in the new actress. Just constantly showing us that she’s getting worse doesn’t advance the story that much. I’d prefer to watch how Jennifer handles the bad news than see Abby shuffling around in her robe crying.
It would have been so much more interesting if we’d seen Jennifer spiral out of control with her addiction. It would be believable and worth watching.
is regarding replacing a soap character. I mean, KM is/was good in the role of Abigail, but only since BF came on the scene. To me, their chemistry is what’s making it so hard for them to find a replacement???? That’s ridiculous. And they wonder why actors get swelled heads??? This needs to stop! KM has been gone since December, for goodness sake. Let’s move on because this writing and the carelessness of who’s behind the wheel and who’s not is becoming dangerous for this soap. It almost appears like SOMEBODY behind the scenes is intentionally trying to tank this show, and IMHO they are succeeding, because lately I just tape it and watch what I want when I want. Too bad!
