Believe it or not I heard about it on Howard Stern! They were talking about it about a year ago. I also work with many 20 somethings and you can definitely hear it.
I guess those powers that be in the show had no problem with the actress. I am sure many auditioned for the part so unless they took the lesser of all evils acting wise, they thought she was good enough for the role. I find that when many performers join the show, these boards are very critical of their talents but most seem to come around in the end. Hope that is the case with naysayers here….
very subjective – get ten actors in the same part and they will all play it differently and also be interpreted differently to the audience. It may not be “bad acting” at all but simply not everyone’s cup of tea.
I myself most often come around to an actor once they settle into a role. My feeliing on Ciara is she is just not there yet, but I suspect she will in time.actors on Days that, in our opinion anyway, have begun their parts with very negative comments. Yet, every single one of them has come around to, if not good acting, at least acceptable. So, other than talking through her teeth, I will refrain from comments on her acting capabilities.
i remember people cmplaining about Chandler’s silly smirks when he first came on Days and he went on to become a real fan favorite.
I also remember skeptics complainging about Paige, and Ben and even Chad when they first started working, not to mention Abigail! Yet, lately they have shown how muc they have grown into the parts. I think part of the problem is we the viewer have aready ideas about how the established characters should act. It surely takes time fora new actor to become comfortable with the character, so we need to give all of them time!
So the fact that we are now adjusting to Vivian as SORASed Ciara makes it a bit more difficult as well.
The only complaint I had about her and many agreed. I wish people would stop reading more into comments than what is intended.
Hopefully liking Lauren will not make some people dislike this actress just because she is replacing Lauren.
After all, she is playing an older person and she will need time to understand the character and her personality.
