I was really looking forward to this movie, but I was disappointed with it. I was expecting humor, romance, holiday cheer, and Christmas magic. There were some interesting moments, but for the most part it was too rushed and confusing. And the drag queen/strip show – I am no prude but I thought it was distasteful for a Christmas special. I just think it could have been so much more than it was.

Care to share what happened for those of us that didn’t want to pay to get the premium service?

I watched it yesterday. It was terrible and I did not like the way they mixed up the couples, especially with Nick, who is long dead, and Gabi. Did not like seeing Eileen Davidson with John either. They could have made a Christmas story using the regular cast members now I am sure. It seemed very exploitative to me (the guys’ dance number.)

Dibbee, you are such a negative Nelly. I know we all get our own opinions, but try to find something positive. Your comments on Paulina on the main board coupled with your comments here, make me wonder if you’re just trolling us.

What I’m getting at is that when it came to A Very Salem Christmas is this: The town was already saved on the NBC soap, remember, they had played up how everyone & anyone was blindsided when Paulina tried to tear down the Horton Square. Paulina ended up losing an extreme amount of money when her plans fell through, so the Horton Square remained, so why the need to have Santa Stripping, with Nick, Johnny, E.J. & Brady stripping to save the town ?

I have been watching this show over 45 years and I just think lately it has veered way off in the wrong direction. The show is completely negative, it is not me. I am happy it is still on after all these years and especially since so many soaps have been cancelled completely. I guess either we all must accept the extreme negativity or just stop viewing for good.

Why was there any need for Chad, Sonny & Will to be in drag yet again?

There’s no story for it, now is there?

The question that I have is that with the Horton Square being saved, why was there a need to plow it down yet again to have the Santa Strip Show to end up saving it?
