ParticipantSo Eric has been on a serious guilt trip for months now to the point of hitting the bottle. Now he realizes his actions caused the ultimate tragedy which can only add exponentially to his torment.
The logical succession to me seems to be a deep depression leading to suicidal tendencies. I think this could be dynamic and compelling material if done well.
Any thoughts?January 13, 2016 at 11:59 pm #50474Patti
Participantbecause nothing anyone could say or suggest to Eric right now could possibly relieve him from his guilt. Although, I don’t think GV is going to go out that way, I admit it would be a most compelling sl, but my gosh the sadness and the deaths so far have become practically unbearable from a fan’s point of view. I’m hoping that in time, when he fully recovers, he will be allowed to get the therapy he needs to heal, wherever that may take place. I just don’t see how he will not go to prison, though. He seems to have lost his faith in God and in himself. Perhaps he needs a visit from Father Louie, or even some sort of "divine" intervention to show him the way to get through what’s undoubtedly ahead for him. That being said, again, what heartbreaking scenes from everyone today. I’m really getting quite frustrated from crying my eyes out over Daniel’s death and the effect it has on everyone who loved him. If AZ doesn’t get the Emmy this year, I may never watch the Emmys again.

ParticipantI really think he’s going to commit suicide. We know GV is leaving that could be his exit. If he doesn’t commit suicide, he will attempt it and maybe his exit will be his being committed to an asylum.

Participantthat’s why I don’t believe that will happen. Eric may contemplate it, but I don’t see him giong through with it.

Participantis not going that route after today’s show. It seems he will try and turn his life around now that he has a second chance.

Participanti was concerned when Brady first visited with Eric. But I liked how he stated that it could have been him (Brady). He also spoke of getting a second chance and making the most of it.
Perhaps Eric will decide t return to the priesthood and working with addicted people.
