I feel that EJ really wants to be good and Sami brings out the good IN HIM (for her and their kids.) Sami, while no saint either, is a flawed heroine (she’s not the Sami of the late 90s’.) Her character has come a long way and EJ see’s her just for that. Rafe wanted her to be Carrie (or Carrie ish before Carrie was back in Salem.) That’s NOT who she is. I was anti Rafe Sami since day 1. I loved her with Lucas but they did always seem more BFF then coupleish. I also liked her with Brandon though that relationship wasn’t much to speak of. And it was more physical in my opinion.
But yes Luckey I meant older woman/younger man – my bad with the typo. It’s different. And eew, when I think about Daniel/Chelsea. I don’t think I have an easier time digesting it when the woman is older. It’s just that in the case of Daniel and Chelsea he was a grown man and she was a VERY young lady. If he was 50 and she was 30, FINE. But he was 30’s and she was late teens/VERY early 20s. GROSS!!!
I guess i’m okay with Rafe n Kate b/c it IS so out of left field. Heck, it was different and caught us all by surprise right? LOL

You’re both right – but that sucks. The JB/MR was probably true – but I suppose enough time could never pass for that to work again. I’d be okay with a re-cast, it’s not as though Peter was a core character.
I’ve been pro Sami n EJ for a while. He truly does love her for who and what she is. Rafe wanted her to be someone else. There’s one thing to be better b/c of someone but not b/c that someone wants you to be better. EJ & SAMI FOREVER!!!

Rafe and Sami are so boring together – that whatever keeps him from her makes me happy!!!

And YES – please get rid of Jenn, Daniel and Rafe. All 3 are soooooooooo boring!!!

I do come across a bit "chippy" – part of being a native New Yorker maybe. Plus – if we all had this convo in person then it would probably not come across nearly as aggressive. That’s reading written words I assume. I only call em as I see em, and when Bon replied I replied back – even agreeing that my perception of the original post might have been different had the original post made been written differently.
Just so you all know, i’ve been watching a long time (I’m 34 – mom started when pregnant with me and I watched as a kid – but started faithfully in the early 90s) and have been reading the board a long time as well. I’ve truly enjoyed a lot of what you all have had to say but now that I have an opportunity to post i’m happy to have healthy debates.
With that said – thanks for the welcome, much apprecaited. Now if you can get Daniel, Jennifer and Rafe off the show for good i’d be a happy guy LOL
I would disagree about being that way in public HOWEVER i do live in New York City. And remember, Salem is supposed to be this major city/international hub (remember – they have direct flights to everywhere and a major shipping port LOL.) But yes, i’m other parts of the US I would agree that the intimacy would be limited to the bedroom – 100%.
I’m not sure if they are trying to be "edgy." It’s been done wayyyyyyyy too much on other soaps – and they tend to write those characters off after a while. I think it’s more the gay rights movement, tackling a relevant issue and overall being "current" with what is really going on in the world. I’d associate ‘edgy" DOOL with Carly being buried alive, Marlena possessed, Susan/Kristen etc. All looney, and I loved it all, but that was probably an attempt at "edge" if you ask me.
For what it’s worth – i’m not a fan of PDA in public myself – but I do see it quite a bit… gay or straight. I find it tacky personally!!!

Perhaps my comment came across as it did b/c you have posted more then once about your dislike for seeing them kiss on screen – it comes across like you really do have an issue with it.
I still do NOT get why you have an issue with seeing 2 straight men together on screen. It’s not like their chemistry is mind blowing (which if it was – then MAYBE i would get where you are coming from.) They are actors and they are being paid to do a job (and Sonny was a gay character on the new, awful 90210.) Now if their chemistry was like, say, EJ and Sami, well then I might raise an eyebrow with you and go hmm…. why is this scene so damn hot?!? But I’m not overly impressed by their chemistry together, it actually seems forced. Their dialogue however, is right on point.
Well, i appreciate your committment to your friend, his plight and our community. Perhaps in the future you can be more conscience about how you position your posts and writing as someone who doesn’t know you (i.e. me) finds it a little abrassive and it does come across homophobic. I imagine that would be the gay with other gays. And i’m far from sensitve so for me to read it that way…. i dunno…. Something is there. HOWEVER I’m happy to be on the board and really enjoy reading everyones post whether I agree or not
