I thought this was a well done episode. I especially liked showing Tom and Alice in their younger years when they first got married, had three children and Tom surprised Alice with their new house. I also liked that current day key players were able to reminisce with Doug and Julie. And Doug can still sing beautifully!
Lucas showing up and his words about what it means to him to be a Horton was very moving.
The Chair was saved as well as all the Xmas ornaments. The show saved these meaningful items from the fire and let the dated stuff (ugly couch) be destroyed.
Leo writing a meaningful piece for the Spectator was a great way to end the show.

I think this was one of the best episodes they’ve done in a long time.

I loved this episode. It was so sweet. I loved everyone sharing memories, I even like that Lucas was there. I was so happy to see that the ornaments survived. I know so many of us long time viewers were worried about the ornaments and now we know the tradition of the Horton ornaments can live on. I would also like to say that it was the perfect episode to dedicate to Bill Hayes’s memory. Just a beautiful show. And I liked that the story Leo told made sense. Glad to see they are finally making the Spectator the great paper it was under Jack and Jennifer.

I agree with everything you all said and thought this was the best episode they have aired in a long time. I’m glad, too, that a few family and friends met in the burned house and reminisced. I’m wondering now what the new house/set will look like: completely different or will they recreate the floor plan and just add new furnishings?
