Brady has an addictive personality. His addiction is Nicole. Perhaps he sees that she is a good person that has had really bad things happen to her. SHe was so sure that EJ was the ONE that she never saw Brady as a possibility. As for Brady he wanted to be someone’s hero maybe because he messed up with Chloe so he tried to help her achieve her goal. You have to give hime credit–he didn’t care about his grandfatherm his sister or his girlfriend. He was a friend to the end, that doesn’ happen to often!!!
